A SOUTH GERMAN CIRCULAR SHIELD
Mid-16th Century
Of strongly convex form drawn up to an acute conical point, flattened narrow brim with turned cabled edge and studded with domed brass-capped lining rivets, the inner-face retaining the greater part of a leather lining, probably the original, and with an early leather enarm and strap (some lining rivets missing, the lining incomplete, one enarm modern).
