A COMPOSITE GERMAN CLOSE HELMET
circa 1530
With rounded skull of one-piece construction rising to a strongly cabled comb and pierced with two pairs of lace holes on both sides, embossed bellows visor formed with a single sight divided centrally and pierced with three rows of circular breaths left and right, the bevor pierced with a circular arrangement of small circular holes below the ears and closed by a hook-and-eye, and fitted with neck-guard of one lame with recessed border and plain turned edge (light pitting throughout, the visor and bevor associated).
