A NORTH ITALIAN (SAVOYARD) CLOSED BURGONET, IN EARLY 17TH CENTURY STYLE
19th Century
With two-piece skull joined by a very low cabled comb, pivoted fall fitted with a single plate covering the face opening and pierced and embossed with a human mask of characteristic type, pivoted chin-piece with no provision for locking, neck guard of one lame front and rear with recessed border and turned roped edge, and fitted with plume- holder cast in the form of a demon mask.
