A SPANISH FLUTED SHAFFRON, IN LATE 15TH CENTURY STYLE
19th Century
Formed in one piece and tapering to a narrow base over the muzzle, the latter strongly convex with medial ridge and embossed with a chevron arrangement of three shallow flutes, with fluted flanges about the eye openings, fluted low flanges below the ears, fitted with fluted stellate boss projecting on a peg, and with poll-plate of one lame.
