A EUROPEAN HORSE CAPARISON, IN 16TH CENTURY STYLE
19th Century
Formed of three sections covering the breast, the flanks and the rump, of fabric-backed white silk enriched by appliqué patterns of silver-thread ribbon and silver thread pom-poms, each with decorative tassels of silver wire, and with applied borders similarly formed as a silver wire fringe (the silk and much of the silver ribbon now in deteriorated condition, some pom-poms missing).
