A MACE, IN LATE 15TH CENTURY GERMAN 'GOTHIC' STYLE
19th Century
Of heavy construction, the head formed of six shaped acutely pointed flanges thickening towards the points, pierced with triangular groups of circular holes and cusped over their lower half, with domed segmented finial, tubular haft closed by a brazed seam, the grip bound with patterned cord and fitted with brazed disc guard, and brazed mushroom-shaped pommel.
