A GERMAN (BAVARIAN) MODEL FIELD CANNON AND CARRIAGE, IN EARLY 18TH CENTURY STYLE

With bronze tapering multi-stage barrel cast in relief, the muzzle formed with a series of mouldings combined with fillets, the base ring and the second reinforce each of similar construction, the first reinforce cast with an heraldic shield bearing a coat-of-arms, perhaps the arms of Wittelsbach, mulberry cascable button issuant from a calyx cascable, and with a well-formed pair of dolphin handles: on original iron-mounted split-trail wooden carriage retaining some early painted finish throughout, fitted with iron-shod spoked cambered wheels, complete with matching limber, and retaining three loading accessories (small iron mounts replaced, the cap-squares and accessories probably 19th Century).
