AN ENGLISH COMBINED HUNTING HANGER AND FLINTLOCK PISTOL
Circa 1725
With curved fullered saw-backed blade double-edged towards the point, and with ricasso carrying on the left side a short turn-off cannon barrel and on the right side the pan, steel and steel-spring, iron oval shell-guard and knuckle-guard each decorated with baluster mouldings, domed iron pommel, and natural staghorn grip-scales slotted respectively above and below for the cock and trigger.
