A FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL, GERMAN OR FLEMISH; A TURKISH FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL; AN ENGLISH PERCUSSION POCKET PISTOL; AND A CONTINENTAL D.B. PERCUSSION COAT PISTOL
The first circa 1760; the remainder 19th Century
The first with sighted barrel formed in two stages and chiselled with rococo ornament in low relief within a gilt panel over the breech (rubbed), rounded lock cut with further small panels in low relief, carved moulded walnut full stock (the pommel repaired and the cap replaced), iron trigger-guard and side-plate en suite with the breech, horn fore-end cap, and original ramrod; the second with sighted barrel encrusted with engraved silver bands and scrollwork, engraved lock, walnut stock, the butt inlaid with silver wire (inlay incomplete), and composite iron mounts including silver-encrusted pommel; the pocket pistol with engraved brass action, folding trigger and chequered walnut butt (some shrinkage), Birmingham proof marks; and the last with sighted barrels with platinum breech lines, coarsely engraved locks, and engraved brass mounts.
