A large Japanese Imari trumpet vase, Meiji (1868-1912)
with deep rounded sides rising to the tall waisted neck surmounted by a trumpet shaped mouth, decorated with lappet panels enclosing peony sprays between roundels with shishi and cash motifs alternating lappets with birds perched on blossoming trees between floral panels, with quatrefoil floral panels below the rim, the interior of the rim with chrysanthemum sprays -- 24in. (60.9cm.) high.
