Each elongated octagonal, the detachable covers with reeded foliage loop handles, the stands on foliage feet and with reeded handles, the covers engraved with a coat-of-arms, the dishes engraved with a crest, each marked on side of dish and inside cover
the dishes 10 5/8 in. (27 cm.) wide

The arms are those of Crawfurd of Auchinames, quartering Crawfurd of Drumsoy, presumably for John Crawfurd of Dromsoy and Auchinames (d.1814). He was M.P. for Old Sarum in 1768 and later for co. Renfrew in 1774. In politics he was an ally of Charles James Fox. He died unmarried in 1814 with his estates passing to his cousin. (4)
