The divided arched central plate with acanthus-carved scrolling border flanked by raised pilasters with c-scroll motifs headed by gadrooned and lambrequin-hung capitals, the mirrored cresting with pierced trellis centred by a shaped cartouche and surmounted by a shell flanked by foliate sprays, minor losses to the carved decoration, some breaks to the side panels

An identical mirror (see illustration opposite), probably the pair to it, in the collections of the Museo Civico of Turin is illustrated in A. Pedrini, Il Mobilio, Gli ambienti e decorazioni nei secoli XVII e XVIII in Piemonte, 1967, fig. 127, p. 83. Another related overmantel mirror is hung in the Salone d'Onore of Palazzo Carignano, Turin.
