Lot Essay

This Bride and Groom were produced by Franklin Mint in the late 1980s. The teddy bear Groom was inspired by a teddy bear from the collection of Col. T.R. Henderson, and the teddy bear Bride is the first authorised re-creation of 'Teddy-Girl', Col. T.R. Henderson's life-long companion.

Teddy Girl is still the holds the world record for the most expensive antique teddy bear when it sold at Christie's in 1994.
