A Farnell 'soldier' teddy bear
with blonde mohair, clear and black glass eyes, black stitched nose, pipe-cleaner ears, swivel head, pin-jointed limbs and cream satin bow, circa 1917 --3¼in. (8cm.) high; and a paper 'leather' covered lidded box with leather strap and buckle

Provenance
This bear was bought by a child, the original Christie's vendor, in 1917 from a six-penny stall in the Old Brompton Road. Seventy-one years later Christie's sold him to the museum and he is now being sold here again.

This bear was purchased from these rooms, 4th February 1988, lot 116.
