FIRST EDITION OF "THE FIRST SYSTEMATIC TREATISE ON PATHOLOGY AND THE FIRST WORK ON THE SUBJECT IN ENGLISH" (Norman). Baillie believed that changes in organs observed in post-mortem examinations could aid understanding of the causes of the changes. His work concentrated particularly on the thoracic and abdominal organs and the brain.
