Lot Essay

Amjad Ali Talpur in this series of works also uses the grid as a basis for his composition referencing both Zahoor ul Akhlaq (lot 19) and Rashid Rana (lot 112).

Commenting on the current state of the media and politics in Pakistan, Amjad Ali Talpur uses the imagery of the game puzzle to show how the general populace are unwitting pawns in the subversion of the truth by these two institutions.

The imagery that Talpur employs is derived from Mughal miniatures, specifically the Padshahnama.
