Four pages from a Mahabharatha series
India, Rajasthan, late 18th century
The first with the Pandavas seated on a hill and seeking Krishna's counsel while Duryodhan and Bheem prepare to fight; the second with an ascetic shown twice, once in conversation with a hunter and then again seated by a river; the third of a battlefield with two men in white jamas at center, slain by two bowmen in horsedrawn chariots on either side; and the fourth with Shiva and Brahma at top and a fire-breathing demon below, all with text and surrounded by decorative borders
