Lot Essay

Compare with four similar harpoons in the Kronos Collection, see M. Lerner, The Flame and the Lotus, Indian and Southeast Asian Art from the Kronos Collection, 1984, cat. no. 1, p. 18. Cast in a mold, they follow the same design, with a small hole below the barbs for attachment to a shaft.
