A gilt bronze figure of Padmapani
Tibet, 14th Century
Finely cast seated in lalitasana on a double lotus base, his left hand raised in vitarka mudra and his right lowered in varada mudra, wearing a diaphanous dhoti secured with a belt, the face with elongated eyes and raised urna, the hair drawn up into a high chignon centered by Amitabha and secured with a foliate tiara, all jewelry inset with turquoise and coral, and flanked by blossoms on either side
