AN IMARI THREE-PIECE GARNITURE, 18th Century
Comprising three baluster jars and covers, painted in underglaze blue, iron-red and gilt on each side with a petal-shaped panel enclosing an overhanging branch issuing from rockwork, divided by flowering branches of peony, the shoulder encircled by a broad washed-blue ground band enriched with gilt foliage, reserved with four alternate quatrefoil and round cartouches of chrysanthemum and river landscapes with a pavilion, repeated on the domed cover surmounted by knop finial (one finial chipped, one restuck)
