Painted in underglaze blue, iron-red, green and black enamels with gilt, each side with a vertical panel of a karashishi landing on its front paws, between smaller petal-shaped panels below the flaring rim with a fox jumping through grapevine, all on a blue ground enriched with flower-heads, foliage and variously shaped panels
