A Chinese bronze model of a mythical beast, Ming dynasty (1368-1644)
cast in the Han dyansty style, the recumbent beast modelled with its held held high and slightly turned to the left, with ears pricked flanking the bifurcated horn reaching towards the similarly shaped tail, the jaws open in a ferocious expression revealing the menacing teeth, the haunches with sharp elbows terminating in pronounced claws, with incised lines delineating the fur marks -- 2 9/16in. (6.5cm.) long.
