A Chinese 'crab shell' glazed tripod censer, liding, 18th century
the body formed of three joined lobes, rising to the short waisted neck and flattened everted rim, flanked by a pair of archaistic loop handles, the exterior covered with a metallic russet and gold speckled glaze continuing over the mouth rim and falling onto the short mammiform feet, the interior and base of the feet unglazed -- 6 3/8in. (16.1cm.) wide, wood cover.
