A PAIR OF DERBY CHINOISERIE FAMILLE VERTE BOTTLE COOLERS
Circa 1810, iron-red crown, crossed batons, and D marks, iron-red 16 to one and 24 to the other
Each hemispheric on slightly flaring domed foot and applied with gilt enriched upright everted scallop shell handles, painted in the famille verte palette and style with swallows in flight amongst flowering plants and willow trees with gnarled trunks, the paneled border with a single butterfly reserved on a seeded band enameled with flowering lotus, the band edged in iron-red with cloud pattern within ogival arches and with Vitruvian scroll, the rim edged with gilt-enriched iron-red square cell pattern, gilt line rim
