A LURISTAN BRONZE AXE HEAD
EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
With crescentic blade emerging from stylized lion jaws, the shaft surmounted with a recumbent animal, 8½ in. (21.5 cm.) long; a bronze anchor axe head with deep crescentic blade joined centrally to the open shaft, circa 2200-2000 B.C., 4¼ in. (11 cm.) long; a bronze dagger with openwork hilt and pommel with triangle pattern, with scabbard, 11½ in. (29.2 cm.) long overall; a bronze bracelet decorated with three high crescentic flanges with four stylized faces in between, 4 in. (10 cm.) wide max.; a bronze spherical cage, probably a bell from a horse trapping, with patterned openwork sides, disc-headed terminal at each end, suspension loop above, 2½ in. (6.4 cm.) wide, both early 1st millennium B.C.; six bronze kohl-jars with applicators, the applicators with animal terminals including ibex heads and a bird, all circa 2nd millennium B.C., jars 3½ in.
