A GROUP OF WESTERN ASIATIC BRONZES
MAINLY 2ND-1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
Including four mounts in the form of naturalistically modelled cloven hooves, 2 3/8 in. (6 cm.) long max.; a pair of horse harness rings, each of spoked wheel form, surmounted by the head of a long-horned ibex, stylized horned head in between and flanked by two felines either side, 2½ in. (6.5 cm.) high; a pin with terminal in the form of an ibex head with long horns; another with terminal in the form of a crouching feline, both 6¾ in. (17.2 cm.) long; another with terminal in the form of a pair of yoked bulls standing on a square base, pin shaft broken, 3 5/8 in. (9.2 cm.) long; a bronze stylized figure, possibly a handle, arms upraised with slotted and pierced hands for attachment, 4 5/8 in. (11.7 cm.) high; a fragmentary finial with rampant ibex, one missing, 7 in. (17.9 cm.) high; a conical kohl jar with bull head protome and associated applicator; another jar with associated applicator with terminal in the form of two recumbent ibex with horns entwined; another jar with associated applicator terminal in the form of a ram head, jars 2 7/8 in. (7.4 cm.) high max.; and a penannular iron bracelet with three wide ribs, each with lion head terminals, the middle rib with stylized human heads below, 3¼ in. (8.3 cm.) wide max.(a lot)
