NORTH IRAN, 14TH CENTURY
Rising from short slightly splayed foot through conical sides angling up to a vertical band below T-section rim, the white interior painted in blue, black and turquoise with a central roundel containing two birds against a dense foliate background, within a band of palmettes containing floral spray against a ground of similar dense foliate pattern between minor stripes, the exterior with a wide band of a bead and stripe motif between bold dark stripes, the outer rim with continous foliate pattern, repaired breaks, slightly discoloured glaze and areas of iridesence
11½in. (29.3cm.) diam.
