Of rounded inverted boteh form, with attachment loop and pendant pearl, the face inset in turquoise with a bird surrounded by ruby leaves on an engraved gold ground, the reverse enamelled with a single floral spray on a pale buff ground

A larger engraved gold drop-shaped pendant with enamelled back inset with a flying bird attributed to 18th century Mughal India is in the Victoria and Albert Museum (Susan Stronge, Nima Smith and J. C. Harle, A Golden Treasury, London, 1988, no.63, p.69).
