Circular, the detachable cover set with an enamel plaquette of a soldier's farewell en grisaille, within a border of split pearls, the cover, sides and base with panels of black opaque enamel with delicate gold paillon borders, within outer borders of enamelled and engraved circle decoration, marked inside base and cover with pseudohallmarks including the charge mark of Julien Alaterre
