Lot Essay

A similar model of a pheasant, but turned to the left, was included in the auction of original factory models from the showroom of Etablissement Edmé Samson, sold in these Rooms, 23 July 1979, Lot 455 (model 6223). A pair of similar pheasants is in the Hodroff Collection, illustrated by D. S. Howard, The Choice of the Private Trader, London, 1994, no. 325, p. 270.
