Lot Essay

The reverse of this picture is applied with a copy of a letter from the Consul General in Isfahan to the artist, dated 1933, commenting on two miniatures commissioned on his behalf - one intended for Lady Edwina, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, CI, GBE, DCVO (1901-1960), the other for H.R.H. Queen Mary, (1867-1953).
