A Satsuma koro and metal cover, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
of globular form, painted and gilt to the lower body with scattered maple leaves, variously decorated with spotted, scrolling and wave-fret motifs, the upper rim with concentric rings of overlapping stylised kiku flowerheads in blue enamels, the pierced metal cover formed also as scattered incised maple leaves -- 4.3.4in. (12cm.) high.
