Two Japanese okimono, a bronze inkwell and vase
Late Meiji period
Comprising an ivory okimono representing the figure of Daikoku, the God of Wealth holding a rice bale and mallet, 9.5 cm. high; a small okimono of a seated boy spooning up a fish from a basin, 4.8 cm. high; a bronze drum-shaped inkwell, moulded in relief with flower-sprays, 4.7 cm. high; and a pear-shaped vase on high splayed foot, cast with a pair of turtles, applied with dragon-head handles, the base with a Chinese archaic Xuande mark (4)
