A REMARKABLE STOCK OF TOP QUALITY WINE FROM A FAMILY CELLAR FEATURING RARE PORT, CHEVAL-BLANC 1947, SEVERAL FINE VINTAGES OF PETRUS INCLUDING 3 DOZENS OF THE LEGENDARY 1947, SUPERB L'EVANGILE, FURTHER MATURE BORDEAUX AND EXCEPTIONAL WINES FROM D.R.C. INCLUDING ROMANEE CONTI OF THE 1990 VINTAGE
All recently removed from two superb cellars in northern Europe following long term ownership by the vendor's family and now lying in Weybridge, Surrey (EHD)
The following stock (lots 1-113) has been recently removed from two cellars in northern Europe, one domestic - temperature and humidity-controlled to 14 C, the other commercial - underground with natural ambient temperature of no more than 15 C, following unbroken ownership by the vendor's family. All wines, including the 1947's, have lain undisturbed since original purchase soon after each vintage, until removed by Christie's Wine Department for inclusion in this sale.
Highlights include rarest Noval Nacional 1963, through Cheval-Blanc and Pétrus of the 1947 vintage, other rarely-seen vintages from leading right bank Châteaux including Le Pin 2000, further fine vintages of Pétrus including the 1982, 1989, 1990 and 2000 and exceptional wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti including two wines from the famed 1978 vintage and a rare pristine original wooden case of 6 bottles of Romanée-Conti 1990. Also Corton-Charlemagne from Coche-Dury, Bollinger Vignes Françaises and a venerable Fine de Bourgogne from de Vogüé.
