A GERMAN FAYENCE BLUE AND WHITE PEWTER-MOUNTED JUG (ENGHALSKRUG)
CIRCA 1700-1720, HANAU OR ANSBACH, INCISED 4, INDISTINCT BLUE ENAMEL MARK
Spirally fluted body below a flared neck, applied with a strap handle, painted in blue and 'trekked' in manganese with a seated oriental figure by an attendant with parasol before another figure holding a bowl of fruit in a stylised wooded landscape, the hinged pewter cover with a gadrooned ball thumb-piece, the foot applied with a crimped pewter rim
