EARLY 18TH CENTURY, NUREMBERG, PAINTED BLUE MARKS OF THE ALCHEMICAL SYMBOLS FOR TIN AND IRON
Painted in shades of blue with the Madonna and child, within a lozenge-shaped cartouche below scrolling leaf bands and pendant flowers between landscape roundels, on a plae blue ground, the hinged pewter cover with ball thumb-piece engraved with the initials ·F·K·, the foot with a pewter rim
