Sugata [configuration]: shobu zukuri, iorimune, with high shinogi and a shallow curve
Kitae [forging pattern]: tight itame
Hamon [tempering pattern]: gunome midare of konie
Boshi [tip]: komaru with a deep kaeri becoming shallow muneyaki the length of the blade
Nakago [tang]: Ubu, two mekugi-ana, katte sagari file marks, shallow ha-agari kurijiri tip
Habaki [collar]: single gold-clad copper
Nagasa [length]:22.7cm.
Koshirae [mounting]: wakizashi mounting, the whole of deeply carved 'guri' type lacquer, the saya having deep longitudinal striations within which the layers of lacquer are discretely visible, with two carved triple tomoe mon on the omote, and a single tomoe mon on the ura, fuchi-kashira and koiguchi of guri-bori type with key-fret design, menuki of oblong panels with shakudo and copper layers, the kurikata carved with waves, the kozuka of shakudo and copper similarly carved deeply so that the alternate red and black layers are visible, and the ovoid tsuba also of shakudo with alternate layers of shakudo and copper on the rim
