All painted to the centre with different figure scenes from the Romance of the Western Chamber, the set of four encircled on the rim by four cartouches depicting scholars at leisurely pursuits outdoors, reserved on wave-, trellis-, diaper- and swastika-pattern grounds, one plate encircled with vignettes enclosing peach on a trellis ground, hairline cracks and minor small chips
