A pair of encre-de-Chine 'Crucifixion' plates
Circa 1745
Decorated en grisaille heightened in gilt with a scene of the 'Crucifixion' showing the centurions casting dice before the crucified Christ, flanked by the two thieves above the Virgin Mary, St. John and other mourners, surrounded by a border of scalework panels issuing foliate scrolls, strapwork and cornucopias
