MONTRACHET

Montrachet has a perfect southeast exposure on Mont Rachat or the bald mountain. The calcareous soil with a limestone base gives good drainage and mineral contact are some of the intangibles that makes it the greatest dry white wine in the world and the platonic form of white Burgundy at its most opulent.
Montrachet--Vintage 1999
Côte de Beaune, Domaine Leflaive
In original wooden case
"Leflaive's Montrachet is first-rate. It offers a gorgeously defined, mineral and spice cake-scented nose. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, powerful, deep, broad, and harmonious. It coats the palate with layers of lush and supple white/yellow fruits, spices, and cream. Projected maturity: 2003-2012." Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #133 (Feb 2001)
