FIRST EDITION of a selection of plays by the playwright whom Viazemskii described as the transformer of Russian tragedy, whose services could be compared with those of Karamzin. Includes the play Dimitrii Donskoi, which touched a nerve with patriotic audiences when first performed only days after the Battle of Eylau.
