Each modelled with a cherub holding aloft a salamander born on Juno's peacock, with a further cherub recling on a jar, the gadrooned bow-ended rectangular bases and scrolling feet applied with stylised scallop clasps, variations to the chasing, re-gilt

Lot Essay

The two chenets of the same model were originally designed to be in a separate pair with a second model not included here. The second model is designed with a cherub born on Jupiter's eagle holding aloft a sun burst, with a further cherub seated on a globe.
