The lid with palm-scrolled ends and centred by a bust of Scipio, the front edge inscribed 'CORNELIVS. CN. F. SCIPIO', the main body Roman Doric entablature above the inscription on a grey granite base
24 in. (25.5 cm.) high; 12½ in. (32 cm.) wide; 5½ in. (14 cm.) deep
