Lot Essay

Jean-Dominique Etienne Canu (1768-circa 1843) was a student of Nicolas Delaunay (1739-1792); however, little else is known about him. His work comprises Royalist propaganda for the July Monarchy such as the present print extolling the virtues of King Charles X.
