Lot Essay

The baseball was signed on August 15th, 1966 at D.C. Stadium in Washington D.C., and was obtained by the then-equipment manager for the Washington Senators baseball team. Having full access to the stadium, and knowing how popular the Beatles were, he took all four of his children to meet the group before the show. Each received a signed baseball. One of the baseballs subsequently disappeared in the mid-1970s, and two more were sold over the years. The offered baseball is the last Beatles signed baseball left in the family.
