A large blue and white 'dragon' dish, Kangxi (1662-1722)
with shallow rounded sides rising to the everted rim, supported on a short tapering foot, painted in the centre with a full-faced dragon grasping a flaming pearl enclosing a shou ('longevity') character, between two pairs of confronting dragons with each pair reaching towards a flaming pearl enclosing fu ('good fortune') and lu ('prosperity') characters respectively, all amidst cloud and fire scrolls, the undersides with auspicious emblems, underglaze-blue six character Xuande mark -- 21 1/16in. (53.4cm.) diam.
