rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover set with a rectangular enamel plaque depicting Minerva and an attendant holding a laurel crown, admiring a marble head of Alexander the Great on a plinth, within a black enamelled gold frame, bordered by a band of gold foliage interlaced with a ribbon band, against a matted gold background, the base similarly bordered, enclosing a panel with engine-turned diaper pattern, the four side panels decorated with a band of polished crescents enclosing leaves
