octagonal flattened box, the cover, sides and base decorated with white taille d'épargne enamelled arches and strapwork on burnished gold panels and with engraved stylised feathers, the lid centred by a rectangular engine-turned reserve enamelled en plein in translucent royal blue on a guilloché sunburst ground and painted with Cupid, two ladies in classical dress and a child holding an apple, white bordered foliage cut-corners, bright-cut rims with very slightly everted incorporated thumbpiece
