GENEVA, CIRCA 1830, MAKER'S MARK D CROWNED INCUSE
rectangular with cut corners, the cover painted en plein with boats on a lake, snow-capped mountains in the distance, a bridge and torrent in the foreground, surrounded by oyster-coloured opaque enamel with translucent green enamel flowers, wavy opaque white enamel border, framed by a lavender-blue taille d'épargne band, the base similarly enamelled, centred with translucent red enamel on engine-turned starburst ground, the sides with translucent red enamel on engine-turned wavy ground, the cut corners with oyster-coloured enamel and leaf motifs
