A GREEK ELECTRUM FINGER RING
CLASSICAL PERIOD, CIRCA 4TH CENTURY B.C.
Stirrup-shaped, flattened at one end, the plain hoop bevelled on the interior, rounded on the exterior, the pointed oval bezel bevelled on the underside, the upper surface engraved with a three-quarter frontal head of a bearded man with curly hair, furrowed beard, large almond-shaped eyes and down-turned mustache, an astragalos (knucklebone) in the field below
